Sekab and Peab Asfalt replaced a fraction of the oil-based bitumen with softwood lignin on a road in Sweden. Peab Asfalt and Sekab are one of the eleven partners of the EU industrial development project Rewofuel. As part of the project,  Peab Asfalt has used softwood hydrolysate lignin produced by Sekab in Örnsköldsvik as part of their asphalt production. The project has been going on for two years and lignin is produced in Sekab’s biorefinery Demo Plant, in  Örnsköldsvik, Sweden by CelluAPP technology. Continue to original story…
