Preem, RenFuel and Rottneros are in collaboration assessing the construction of one of it’s kind lignin plant for biofuels, at the pulp mill in Vallvik, Söderhamn. The plant is expected to be completed in 2021, producing 25,000-30,000 tonnes of lignin. Through this collaboration, Preem will be the first fuel producer to use lignin in its production, in Sweden. Samples of lignin from Rottneros’s pulp mill are already being delivered to Renfuel’s pilot facility for Lignol oil production.
